October was a slower reading month for me. I hit a bit of a reading slump, but luckily, I managed to get out of it toward the end of the month!
My 5-star read this month was The Witch by Freida McFadden. I loved how the story kept me engaged from beginning to end. I also enjoyed how one of the perspectives was written in a different style which made the reading experience even more interesting.
Looking back at my October reads, I gravitated toward holiday romances even though we’re not quite in the holiday season yet. My ratings were a mixed bag, with some books I absolutely loved and others that didn’t quite work for me. With my mini reading slump, I’ve fallen even further behind on my ARCs and TBRs. I can’t believe we only have two months left of 2026!
I’ve come to terms with the fact that I won’t be able to get through all my 2026 NetGalley books or my physical TBR before the year ends. Now, I need to figure out which books I want to prioritize while still leaving room for mood reading.
The last thing I want is to burn myself out trying to catch up. After all, reading is supposed to be something I enjoy, not another item on my to-do list. Here’s hoping November brings plenty of great reads and fewer reading slumps!
