September ended up being another really solid reading month! I continued reading across a mix of genres, including romance, suspense, fantasy, and horror, which kept the month interesting and gave me plenty of variety depending on what I was in the mood for.

My 5-star reads this month were A Married Little Christmas by Abby Jimenez, The Lotus Inn by Nisha Sharma, and Verity by Colleen Hoover. A Married Little Christmas was my first 5-star read of the month and such a fun start to Christmas reading. The Lotus Inn completely pulled me in and loved this new direction of romantic suspense that Nisha Sharma is going. This ended up being another favorite! I also reread Verity for the first time since 2019. I originally rated it 4 stars, but this time I bumped it up to 5. I had forgotten just how bingeable the writing is, and I appreciated the characters and romantic suspense elements even more on a reread.

One of the biggest bookish surprises of September actually happened outside of the books I read. I won a Kobo Clara Colour and a cute clear floral case through my library’s Adult Summer Reading Program! This was such an unexpected and exciting way to wrap up the summer. Libraries have always been an important part of my reading life, especially through Libby, so winning an e-reader through a library reading program made it feel even more special. I’m looking forward to figuring out how the Kobo fits into my reading routine alongside my Kindle.

I’m ending the month with Threshing Day which I’m hoping to finish before September officially comes to a close even though I won’t have finished it by the time this post goes up. Going into October, I want to keep doing what has been working for me: balancing ARCs with mood reading, picking up books that genuinely sound good in the moment, and giving myself the freedom to move between genres without feeling like I need to stick to a specific reading plan.
