This month I leaned into a wider variety of genres after not having any 5-star reads in June and it definitely paid off! I ended up with three 5-star reads: You Jump First by Myah Ariel, Into the Fading Twilight by Catherine Cowles, and Let’s Kiss and Tell by Joss Richard.

Romance is still my comfort genre so it’s no surprise that it continues to dominate my reading, but I was happy to find my way back to thrillers as well. I’m also glad I’ve been able to balance ARCs with mood reads. I’ve continued to be pickier about the books I pick up. I ended up DNF’ing eight books this month rather than pushing through books that weren’t working for me.

In August, I’d like to continue balancing ARCs with mood reading while reminding myself that reading is a hobby, not a chore.
